The 42nd Annual Balboa Alumni vs Varsity Basketball game will be held Saturday, January 28, 2012 in Balboa's Coach Orron Qualls Boys gym, 1000 Cayuga Avenue, near Onondaga, San Francisco. Gym lobby doors open at 5:15 p.m. Game to start at 6:00 p.m., preceded by pre-game student, PTSA, Booster and alumni entertainment. Tickets at $5.00 may be purchased at the door. This event is a fund raiser for Balboa's sports programs. Students, parents, alums and community friends of Balboa are invited.

Balboa Hall of Famer, Joseph Belfrey (Class of 1978) will coach the alumni team, and Balboa Coach Val Cubales will coach the varsity.
Two of Balboa's San Francisco Prep Hall of Famers, Maurice Crumby and Richard Morton, are expected to be on the alumni team.
Balboa's alumni association will have refreshments, Balboa T-shirts, sweats, and more for sale in the lobby. No matter which team wins -- Balboa High School is the winner, as students, alumni and parents gather to gather together to support Balboa High. Experience has shown that these annual games have proven to be extremely exciting.

Alumni president, Emily Powell (Class of 1946) boosts that she believes Balboa High and its alumni association have the world record for having an annual basketball game for forty-two years!
